Carla believes the client/therapist relationship is central to the healing process in therapy. She views the therapeutic process as a collaborative effort in which the client takes the lead and the therapist takes a supportive role. Carla utilizes an eclectic approach to therapy, relying strongly on a client centered approach while matching therapeutic approaches to individual client needs. Carla continually pursues education in trauma therapy and the neurobiology of trauma, using this knowledge directly with clients in therapy. She has completed level II Brainspotting, a cutting edge technique in processing trauma more quickly than conventional methods.
Prior to coming to Pathways Consulting, Carla worked with survivors of sexual assault and abuse and their support people. This included clients of all ages, sexual identity and gender identity.
Carla enjoys working with all ages of clients, particularly adolescents. She provides individual, family and group therapy. Her areas of interest include trauma (including PTSD), anxiety and depression.
