A graduate of Argosy University Schaumburg, David W. Smith, MA, NCC, LPC, LCPC, has over 7 years of clinical experience working in mental health counseling. David works with teens, adults, couples and families to resolve a wide variety of problems. David’s theoretical orientation is eclectic, most often utilizing techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, family systems and solution focused models.
David works with clients that struggle with depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, career challenges, and anger management. David has also helped many clients who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse. His counseling style is warm and interactive and treats everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and doesn’t believe in stigmatizing labels.
Currently working in private practice setting in Wisconsin and Illinois, David is a supervisor for the CSP program at Racine County Behavioral Health Services, and is a member of the American Counseling Association.
